National Park Field Trip

As part of our study of Vermont settlement, we recently visited the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park to look at factors the early Vermont settlers would have had to consider in their homesteading here. We looked at water sources, topography, trees, and soil. Students made excellent observations about the advantages and disadvantages of various sites in the park.
